Mothers and fathers have a duty to raise their children to have a heart for God and His Word.
The children have a duty to their parents when the parents are elderly. Raising children is a serious responsibility.
Because they shall be the leaders of tomorrow. There is much racism in the USA. Children are not born racist. Racism is learned. Jesus didn't care what color you were, your culture or your creed. He died once for all. Children are commanded in the Ten Commandments to honor their parents that their days will be long upon the earth.
This is the first commandment with a promise. (Exodus 20:12).
Some of the roles of parents and children are:
1) Encourage your children to be themselves. Because they are trying to discover their identity. No two people are alike.
The young people are watching you. 2) Talk to your children about their goals. 3) Ask them what they would like to do. 4) Children honor your parents.
2 Samuel 18:32; "And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man.
Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, the enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is." 5) Teach your children to obey. Ephesians 6:1; "Children obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right." Colossians 3:20; "Children obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord."
6) Listening. Both parents and children should listen to one another. Listening is a duty. 7) Caring. Parents should teach their children about caring for and about themselves, for the parents and for others. 8)
Forgive your parents. If your parents abused or hurt you in any way, let it go. Forgive as God forgives you. (Matthew 6:12; Colossians 6:13).
Glory to Almighty God!!!
