Acts 16:20
"And when they had brought them before the magistrates, they declared, These fellows are Jews and they are throwing our city into great confusion. They encourage the practice of customs which it is unlawful for us Romans to accept or observe! The crowd [also] joined in the attack upon them, and the rulers tore the clothes off of them and commanded that they be beaten with rods. And when they had struck them with many blows, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely."
Sometimes life gets to this level where you are falsely accused.
There are so many reasons why people get falsely accused. Here, the Apostles had casted out the demons, set the slave girl free from demons which on the other hand was a source of income to her owners.
Her masters could not bring the real issue on the table but had to find a plan to get rid of the Apostles and accuse them false. Sadly, the Apostles were punished for that.
This issue can be likened to a husband who wants to divorce his wife. For him to be justified of his bad evil intention, he has to come up with an acceptable cooked stories, falsely accusing his wife. So that whoever hears the story will blame the wife.
It's sad that some of us are victims of false accusations, and some have been jailed for that, others divorced for that, others dismissed from work etc. I know, some victims are still bleeding from those kind of accusations. I pray that the LORD heal the wounds of those victims. Amen.
