God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.
Heb. 1:1-2 Spoken to us by His Son:---The writer of this epistle is not known but many favored Paul.
The danger which the writer sought to avert was a relapse or going back of the Hebrews into Jadaism.
The epistle is relevant in a peculiar degree to address the deviation of the Church into various practices of paganism of "spiritual direction.
Though God in various times and in various ways has spoken through the prophets in the past has now chosen to speak to us through His Son.
The Old Testament prophetic revelation has now received its end times climax through God's Son. Therefore we must now listen most closely to the Son who is the designated Heir of all things and the Maker of the universe.
Jesus is superior to the prophets and His salvation better than the Hebrew system of religion. Child of God, there are so many voices speaking but there is one chosen by God and that is the voice of Jesus Christ.
Let us pay attention to the voice of the Lord
