Acts 16:6-12 "And Paul and Silas passed through the territory of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the Word in [the province of] Asia.
And when they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them.
So passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. [There] a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man from Macedonia stood pleading with him and saying, Come over to Macedonia and help us! And when he had seen the vision, we [including Luke] at once endeavored to go on into Macedonia, confidently inferring that God had called us to proclaim the glad tidings (Gospel) to them.
Therefore, setting sail from Troas, we came in a direct course to Samothrace, and the next day went on to Neapolis.
And from there [we came] to Philippi, which is the chief city of the district of Macedonia and a [Roman] colony. We stayed on in this place some days;"
In summary, this passage reveals: risk on the journey, commitment of the Apostles, sacrifice of their resources and time. How many things are we failing to do as the new generation Church? No life is more valuable than the other.
What risks are we taking for the cause of the Gospel? What sacrifices are we making for the Gospel? What level of commitment does GOD see in us for the cause of the Gospel? Are we not focussing much on our desires and things that benefit I, me and myself? Let's reflect on what the Apostles have been demonstrating and learn to do likewise. Amen.
