Methodist Church In Zimbabwe Daily Devotion- Leviticus 6:13 Keep The Fire Burning

DAILY DEVOTION MCZ MISSION DEPARTMENT

Leviticus 6:13

Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

Keep the fire burning

Today's text is drawn from the words of instruction given to the Israelites regarding sacrifices. The Priest was to keep the fire burning on the alter. To let the fire go down meant that no sacrifices would be done.

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever jand ever. Amen.Rev 1:6

Glory to God, we were made kings and priests, hence this duty is for all who believe.

There is no room for lay-byes or rest in the Christian journey. We need to keep the fire burning in our lives. The Bible says our God is a consuming fire, therefore, fire signifies the presence of God.

The world is harsh and detrimental to our faith, if we allow ourselves to be lukewarm or cold, our  hearts will go numb and we become predisposed.

Keep the fire burning, remain connected to God in prayer, meditation, Bible reading, fasting and exhorting others.

Prayer Point

Almighty God we humbly submit to you , to keep the fire burning in our lives. In you we live and have our being, in Jesus name, Amen.
