Galatians 4:19-20
"My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you — how I wish that I were with you now and could change my tone, because I am perplexed in regard to you."
Paul calls Galatians my little children for various reasons. I think his relationship with them, his strong love and affection of them compelled him to call them in this way. And also looking at John 3 when JESUS says, unless you are "born again" means Paul was a means by GOD to bring salvation to Galatians. It was unfortunate that the false teachers had misled them to the point that they had gone back in their faith.
For him to recover them from this backside, Paul described himself as a woman in labour pains trying to give birth because of his concern for them, his labour of bringing them back to faith and that CHRIST be formed in them again. Paul's desire was for these Christians to be free from any form of slavery.
As a Christian like Paul how much are you labouring to bring the lost to the LORD? Paul showed concerned for the lost, how much concerned are you for the lost? Paul reveals the pains hile had for those enslaved so that they can be set free and CHRIST be formed in them.
What inspiration do you get from this? When you look back in your faith journey, how many can you point and say, thee are my Spiritual sons and daughters whom I well pleased to call my children because I became the means by the LORD for their salvation? Examine yourself and be encouraged to begin to serve your purpose. Of course its not gonna be easy, it's tough, that's why Paul describes himself like a woman in child birth pains. But those pains are worthy the joy after that birth. Amen.
Blessings and Shalom
