Sickness A Passing Phase In Life

Showers of blessings

Reverend N Murambadoro

Galatians 4:12-14 "Believers, I beg of you, become as I am [free from the bondage of Jewish ritualism and ordinances], for I have become as you are [a Gentile].

You did me no wrong [when I first came to you; do not do it now]. On the contrary, you know that it was because of a physical illness that I [remained and] preached the gospel to you the first time; and even though my physical condition was a trial to you, you did not regard it with contempt, or scorn and reject me; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus Himself."

Paul begins by pleading with Galatians to be free from bondage of Jewish rituals and ordinances. He as a Jew has been living like a Gentile. These Galatians needed that freedom.

He further comment them on their hospitality and reception. At this point Paul was sick but they did not reject him. They received him as an Ang of GOD.

I was just thinking of Paul's sickness versus the Gospel being preached today that a believer can never be sick. What can we say now if Paul, a man full of the HOLY SPIRIT, inspired to write Bible Books was sick. We are humans, we are still on earth, we shall always pass through trying times, but the LORD will always enable us to overcome. Before we receive healing, we must be sick. How can you be healed if you are not sick.

Sickness is just a passing phase in life. Isaiah 43:1-2 GOD spoke to HIS Beloved children that, although we have this lovely relationship but there are times you will pass through the fire, and pass through flooded rivers, but take heart you shall not die, I will be with you. Don't be discouraged, feel like you are abnormal because of your condition. Its just a passing phase, the LORD is watching over you like HE did with Paul. HE will never let you be destroyed. HE loves you. Therefore, I urge you to rejoice with those who accept and forgive those who reject you. It's ignorance. Amen.

Blessings and Shalom
