Thursday Showers of Blessings: Stick to the truth of the Gospel

Galatians 4:16-18

"So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? These men  eagerly seek you, not honorably. They want to isolate you so that you will seek them. Now it is always pleasant to be eagerly sought after for a good purpose, and not just when I am with you."

Paul asked a question to Galatians, obviously after noticing a certain reaction to the Gospel he had preached to them. He went on to expose the way the Judaizers had tricked them with their philosophy. Vs 17 he says, these man eagerly seek to entrap you with honeyed words and attention to win you over to their philosophy not honourably. Their purpose was not worthy of consideration because they want to isolate you from Apostles who oppose their philosophy so that the Galatians will sought after them.

What Judaizers did was a divide and rule game. The Galatians Christians were trapped with honeyed words and were given attention so that they can be won to Jewish philosophy.

This would further cause enemity between them and Apostles who had preached the Gospel of truth to them. From my experience in life I have seen this kind of things happening and you ask the same question like Paul kuti have I become your enemy by telling the truth or doing good to you. Many people are now enemies by telling each other the truth.

Paul's truth was the Gospel he preached to them. Think of this example: when people find a company of people who turn a blind eye on their evil activities and you confront such people with the truth of the Gospel to stop living ungodly lives, you may end up in a bad relational position. But that should not stop us from preaching the truth.

It doesn't matter how respectful are they, when they are out of the rail, confront them boldly with the Gospel of truth. Amen.

Blessings and Shalom
