✝️Paul, the Apostle of Jesus Christ exhorts the Corinthians not to receive the Lord God in vain when God has given such promises of salvation for every one that believes. No person should act in disgrace to the gospel. He shows them how he had suffered, behaved himself and still preached the gospel in joy. He counsels them.not to be yoked with unbelievers as all who love God will avoid evil practices and evil companions as they are sons and daughter of God.
*1️⃣2 Corinthians 6:1-10: Exhortation to.receive God's grace and salvation amidst hardships and trials.*
⏹️Believers are workers together with God, they should preach and commit the gospel is a full free offer of everlasting salvation to sinners. The Apostle says, *"For we are laborers together with God: you are God's husbandry, you are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ"( 1 Corinthians 3:9-11).*
⏹️The gospel of grace is that redeeming, it is enlightening to the soul, it justifying the repentant sinner, it is regenerating and renewing to the seeker of truth, it is strengthening and qualifying grace to the lover of truth and righteousness. The Apostle says, *"You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier" (2 Timothy 2:3-4).*
*2️⃣2 Corinthians 6:11-18: We are.temples of God so we should.not be equally yoked with unbelievers.*
⏹️As God's faithful believers our hearts should extend to receive Him as we receive others in the gospel. But we should not bind ourselves together with unbelievers in their sins. The patriarch Job says, *"Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue has spoken in my mouth. My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly"(Job 33:2-3).*
⏹️A line of demarcation should be drawn between truth and error, between righteousness and unrighteousness, between light and darkness, between Christ and Satan, between faith and infidelity and between the temple of God and the temple of idols. The wiseman says, *"He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed"( Proverbs 13:20).*
⏭️Believers are the temple of God and should live separated from evil behaving as sons and daughters of God, in mercy, goodness and righteousness. The prophet Isaiah says, *"But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. For thus said the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he has established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else"(Isaiah 45:18-19).*
*🅰️Appeal*
As God's ambassadors, the Apostle gives us much counsel that we should not join in religious communion with idolaters, fornicators, we should never join them in their idolatrous services, nor concur with them in their false worship, nor any abominations. We must not confound together the table of the Lord and the table of devils, the house of God and the house of Rimmon or Baal but our devotion to God should be conspicuous and clear as we share the gospel of salvation to all mankind. God's final warning is clear, the Revelator says, *"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities"(Revelation 18:4-5).* Amen!!!
