*BREAKTHROUGH*

_It takes anguish and sacrifice._

*(1 Samuel 1:1-8)*

Christians, the world over, pray for breakthrough in life.

This could be in marriage, finances, family, business and many other areas of life. In a spiritual sense, a breakthrough is an experience of reaching a new level of spirituality.

It is a sudden and dramatic important discovery or development.

It is an instance of achieving practical success.

Many believers are praying for new levels in their journey with God.

Sometimes you wonder why it seems to take long to happen, or you see nothing happening at all.

There seem to be barriers or hindrances to your breakthrough.

Breakthrough is not something you sit around and wait for but, it is God waiting for you to respond in obedience to what he has already commanded and promised.

He says in (Isaiah 45:2) *_"I will go before you and level the mountains, I will break down gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron._*

God will breakthrough all obstacles to do great things in your life.

Breakthrough does not come easy, you go through sacrifice and anguish.

_*Cowards never start, the weak never finish but, winners never quit.*_

Hannah was childless. For women in the biblical era, their whole identity was tied to their husbands and children.

A blessed woman was one with not only children but with sons. Hannah had neither and that led to Peninnah, her husband's second wife,  bullying her endlessly because she had the sons.

Hannah was sad and troubled, and yet she strongly waited for her breakthrough.

She wanted God's favour and blessing.

Extra food and even the love she got from her husband would not make sense without what she needed most, a child of her own, and she wanted a breakthrough on that.

Let us learn more from Hannah.

Amen.
