LIGHT ON THURSDAY

*BREAKTHROUGH HINDERER*

_Ask and you will receive._

*_The entire family got up the next morning and went to worship the Lord once more. Then they returned home to Ramah. When Elkanah slept with Hannah, the Lord remembered her request, and in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, "I asked the Lord for him."_*
(1 Samuel 1:19-20)

One unique hindrance to breakthrough is simply not asking. Jesus was very clear about that; *_"You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy._* (John 16:24) Hannah said, _"I will call him Samuel because I asked the Lord for him."_ Remember the seek, ask and knock lesson by Jesus Christ.(Matthew 7:7) That theory is as old as the Old Testament and it has always worked.
Many Christians have a problem of mistaking a wish for a prayer. You only wish for it in your heart and mind but do not pray, asking for it. You assume that God knows what you need and that suffices. It is true, God knows what you have and what you do not have but, he wants you to personally ask him for that which you need. He is more than ready to supply your needs.(Philippians 4:19)

For Hannah the response came, not instantly, but when the time was right. The whole family went to worship the Lord; the power of family worship. God particularly remembered Hannah's request and gave it to her. Dear Christian, when you start asking from God, never give up, PUSH! *_Pray until something happens._

 *Amen.*
