Joshua 6:1-2
1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, "See I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour".
We are more than conquerors
The city of Jericho, built thousands of years before Joshua was born, was one of the oldest cities in the world. In some places, it is believed to have fortified walls up to 25 feet high and 20 feet thick. Soldiers guarding on top of the walls could see for miles. Jericho was a symbol of strength - the Canaanites considered it invincible.
Upon seeing the Israelites approaching, they tightly shut the gates, and no one was allowed to get in or go out. Despite the military strategies and all the measures put in place to obliterate the Israelites to invade their territory, God told Joshua that Jericho, it's king and it's strong warriors were given into his hands.
We have a powerful God on our side. It doesn't matter what strategies our enemies have for us, no matter how big and strong the walls the enemy has erected to stop us, let this be known that we are unstoppable.
We have a powerful God who can not be stopped by our adversaries.Fear not the God of hosts is on our side. He makes a way where there is no way. Jericho and it's subjects are in our hands. This victory is achieved through *faith* in Christ.
On the other hand defeat is certain through fear.Imagine the great walls and its fortified city, God is still encouraging Joshua to be strong.
Don't be cast in fear because of the history and achievements of your enemies, but cast your faith to Him who made seas to dry out and provided manna in the wilderness.
Prayer Point.
Despite the fortified walls around me, I have a breakthrough because of Christ crucified. In Jesus name ,Amen.
