Alive In Christ

 Ephesians 2:1-2 "And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient."

Paul is direct to his audience - "and you" not some people somewhere. You must remember your past where you come from thus when you were dead. By dead he meant spiritual death and they actually were separated from GOD because of their trespass and sin. According to Scott, the idea behind the word trespasses is that we have crossed a line, challenging GOD’S boundaries. The idea behind the word sins is that we have missed a mark, the perfect standards of GOD. Trespasses speaks of man as a rebel, sins speaks of man as a failure. Before GOD we were both rebels and failures but now we are not through CHRIST our SAVIOUR. We are not dead anymore but alive in CHRIST. Amen.
