*WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE?*

_Your few provisions._

*_Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, "Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. But Jesus said, "You feed them." Impossible!" they protested. "We have only five loaves of bread and two fish. Or you are expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?" For there were about five thousand men there._*

It is not uncommon for brethren to try to distance themselves from a needy situation. Such was the case with the disciples. Jesus had had a busy day, spiritually feeding the crowd. The disciples might have understood that after so much spiritual nourishment the crowd had a physical need to be satisfied. The disciples looked at  their little provisions and thought it would be impossible to feed themselves and the crowd. They tried to avoid responsibility. Many times Christians see some needy situations and shift  responsibility to the church and leadership.  But the Church is non existent without people.

Those little acts of kindness by individuals can make a big difference in our community care ministry. Jesus challenged the disciples to provide for the crowd. Where there is need, make available the little you have and with a willing heart and let Jesus do the rest. Do not worry about yourself. Yes, Jesus expects you to feed them. He says, *_"others first and yourself last."_* You will never go without because you have helped the needy.

Just help and see how Jesus will help you in return. The fact that you have only a little must not be an excuse. Just do it. *Amen.*
