Light On Sunday

*WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE?*

Age.

*_"O Sovereign Lord, I can't speak for you! I'm too young!"_*

(Jeremiah 1:6)

Like Jeremiah, many people want to use age as an excuse for dodging God's work.

While some would say they are too young, others would say they are too old. But listen to what God says about you, *_"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations."_* (Jeremiah 1:5)

God has since chosen and appointed you.

The next thing God may do is announce your appointment and job description.  So, no kind of excuse will be acceptable before God.

When God calls and appoints, he expects you to salute and take the duty. Do you still have any excuse? Listen again to this God; *_"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."_* (Jeremiah 29:11)

God will not call you to any duty in order to destroy you. His calling is always for your good. At that young or old age he can use you like he used  young David and old Abram. For there is wisdom in the aged and energy in the youth, all of which are very necessary in God' work.  Trust him and respond positively to his calling.

*Amen.*
