Views From An Empty Pulpit

Nehemiah 3 verse 5

"NEXT WERE THE PEOPLE FROM TEKOA,  THOUGH THEIR LEADERS REFUSED TO WORK WITH THE CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISORS."

Allow me to tell you about a team of hardworkers.

People from TEKOA,  they're mentioned twice in the chapter, here and verse 27.

They're not the only ones who were mentioned twice, but they are the only ones whose leaders were described as having refused to be led.

I know you as a hardworking person,  but please my friend,  don't let the TEKOA spirit overtake you.

Their problem was about being led by the construction supervisors.

But on their own they could do great things.

They get unsettled to see someone leading them,  the people of TEKOA.

Give them the work,  they don't want to see your supervisor.

They call themselves self starters, self managers,  self everything until they show their selfishness.

When the spirit of Tekoa got into Diotrephes,  Paul says of him that he is one "who loves to be the leader and refuses to listen or have anything to do with us ". 3 John verse 9- 10.

It is evidence of the evil living in a person when one fails to submit to others who have responsibility over certain tasks.

By giving in to the spirit of Tekoa,  we cease to be God's children.

".............Remember that those who do good prove that they are God's children,  and those who do evil prove that they don't know God." 3 John 11

What is your problem with being led,  just submitting yourself to the supervisor?

Beware of the spirit of Tekoa.
