GOD CAN RECREATE

_Communities_

_"This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I have scattered you in the countries of the world, I will be a sanctuary to you during your time in exile. I, the Sovereign Lord, will gather you back from the nations where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel once again._ (Ezekiel 11:16-17)

The last expression, _"once again"_ is a clear sign that Israel was once a community but, they had later been scattered all over the world.

They were a community that God loved and had chosen for himself. Now they had only memories of what they used to be and what they used to do. God promised to remain their portion even in exile.

A community is

identified by common practices and beliefs. Some communities even share the same mission and hope.

For Israel their hope was to inherit the promised land and enjoy all its provisions once again. But then, that hope had been shattered by exile, they were foreigners where ever they were, and yet God promised to build them into a community once again. He is a God of recreation and will do so for the good of his creation.

Are you living in some form of exile? You may be alienated even within your own family, community or even within your country. You may be in a foreign land for real, living as pieces from a puzzle away from the main body. God is promising to put the jig saw puzzle pieces back together and recreate a complete community.

This God really means it, as a promise and an oath. _These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie."_ (Hebrews 6:18) Just be available wherever you may be and, God will pick you and fit you into the community where he knows you belong. Amen.
