ACTS OF KINDNESS

_It takes wisdom and more._

_If you are wise and understand God's ways,_ _prove it by living an honourable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom._  (James 3:13)

Following Christ and being Christian is no foolishness but rather, a sign of true wisdom. It takes wisdom to realise the need for acts of kindness and, Christ is our role model. It also takes full understanding of God's ways to commit to worshiping him through acts of kindness, as said in James 1:27, _"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress as well as refusing to let the world corrupt you."_

What does it mean to live an honourable life? It includes, amongst other attributes,  doing acts of kindness while remaining humble. _Let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing_....(Matthew 6:3)

Blowing one's trumpet is a detestable act of self praise. Those who do that show signs of deficiency of wisdom.

Acts of kindness with the humility that comes from wise judgements cause more blessings to follow you.

Out of plenty, someone may choose to give with love and still remain humble. But do you know that a stingy, proud and ignorant heart gives birth to poverty? There also may be someone without much and, giving  grudgingly or not giving at all but, very proud and mouthy.

How is your attitude towards acts of kindness? God is happy with a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)

In a season of acts of kindness, will you not want to make God happy with your gift?

Amen.
