_A clean heart_
_Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me._ (Psalm 51:10)
God is a great creator. He, therefore, is able recreate whatever he desires and whenever it pleases him to.
Recreation implies that something once existed but for whatever reason it ceased to be. David once had a clean heart and a sound relationship with God, but when he did evil before the Lord, that clean heart became dirty.
His relationship with God became strained. When he realised that, David came before the Lord pleading for mercy.
David understood that only God can recreate a clean heart. God alone in his unfailing love, could forgive and accept him back. _'Wash me clean from my guilt'_(Psalm 51:2)
You may have wandered away from God and, consequently, strained your relationship with him. He is a loving God; always ready to forgive and to recreate a fresh relationship.
God can mend a broken relationship and give it new life. He is a God of new horizons and new possibilities.
No matter how many and how scattered the broken pieces, God can take his time to put them all together.
There is no state of brokeness that God can not make anew. If he created at first, he can still recreate. _"Create in me a clean heart, O God."_ That is a request for a recreation.
Amen.
