Storing Our Treasures
The following are common scenarios:
- [ ] Panobuda ma results vakapasa vanopembera, vakafoira vachisuwa
- [ ] zvikanzi pane mota yabiwa, vane mota ndo vanovhunduka.
- [ ] Team ikadyiwa ma supporter anorara nebhutsu
People’s reactions in each above scenario is because they have invested time, money, effort etc therefore they have vested interest and follow these activities, possessions, teams etc. The resulting reactions indicate the people’s level of investment and can happen in relation to either good or bad investments.
Matthew 6: 19-21 - (Treasures in Heaven)
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jesus focuses on this human quality, instructs us to invest our treasures wisely and also tells us why it’s a good idea to do so. He reminds us kuti zvepano pasi zvinopera asi zvekudenga zvinogara therefore we need to trust Him with the things we treasure (our lives, finances, loved ones, worries, burdens etc.). As our hearts naturally follow our treasures, investing our treasures in the Lord drives our hearts towards pleasing the Lord and aligns us with His will.
May the Lord help each of us trust Him with our treasures, and that our hearts get in alignment with His will.
