Shock as Durban Pastor Opens Nightclub

DURBAN-BASED businessman, pastor and traditional healer Bhongolethu Mzozo has started a pub.

But the man famously known as Dr Khehlelezi is accused of confusing people.

"Uyabadakisa on Saturday, then abashumayeze on Sunday!" one of them complained.

Mzozo’s Lifestyle will only launch on 17 December.

“He is a pastor and now he has opened a pub where people will be boozing, and spending all their money. It is a known fact that when people are drunk, they go against everything the Bible teaches,” said Lucas Ngobese, one of his followers.

“They fight, they go after women, they speed in their cars and they die.”

He said what confuses him is that at church Dr Khehlelezi preaches from the Bible, encouraging peace and sticking to one’s partner.

“The Bible doesn’t encourage a lot of drinking. It says drink but don’t get drunk,” said Lucas.

Another follower, Zinhle Khoza said: “I’ve been attending his church but I don’t think I will be attending again.

“What he preaches is very much against what will happen at the pub. I don’t want to be part of it.”

Zinhle said pubs are associated with rich men who come looking for young girls to spend cash on in return for s_ex.

“Eventually it’ll happen at his pub too and that’s against the Bible. I don’t like it,” she said.

Not all the people who spoke to Daily Sun saw the initiative as evil.

Thabani Sibeko (30) said: “I think Dr Khehlelezi is just trying to do something that will benefit the community, especially the youth.

*“Hypocrites!” – Zimbabweans Slam Churches For Blocking Somizi Visit*

Zimbabweans online have slammed the churches in the country for blocking South African media personality Somizi “Somgaga” Mhlongo from visiting the country.

Some Zimbabweans were not impressed with the stance taken by the churches, accusing them of hypocrisy, double standards and misplaced priorities.

Somizi Mhlongo, who is openly gay, was supposed to attend the official reopening of the iconic Garwe Restaurant in Harare on November 4 as a guest chef.

However, youths from the ruling ZANU PF party and churches under the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) took offence at the invitation of the celebrity chef.

The churches wrote to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s office, calling on the government to take action against the visit of Somizi. The churches argued that Somizi’s presence would corrupt the morals of Zimbabweans.

The religious organisation also said that same-sex unions are illegal in Zimbabwe and cited principles from Christianity and African traditional religion to bolster their position.

However, Zimbabweans online were not impressed with the churches’ stance against Somizi attending a private function. They accused the churches of hypocrisy and double standards for mobilising against Somizi Mhlongo on account of his orientation.

They alleged that the churches are quiet on the pertinent social ills plaguing the country, such as child marriages, rape, violence and corruption, among other ills. Some of the Zimbabweans online called on the churches to show the same energy in speaking out for the rights of vulnerable and persecuted people.

By Sydney Barson

Barely a month after the death of a Binga philanthropist Pastor, Dr. Jabulani Mudenda another eminent man of God, Overseer Jumpule Kabanga is no more.

Another pastor from Binga said his immense contributions in the building up of the apostolic council and fold will be remembered for life.

"He was so bold in  correcting man - made doctrines.

"During my stay in Binga, I mostly depended on his library for my studies.

"Many ministers were modelled by him. It's a great loss to Binga, his departure is too early. It's a blow to the Binga Pastors Fraternity, Binga Apostolic Council of ministers, not to mention the Church he served as a minister and his family at large." Pastor Israel Ncube said.
