Wednesday showers of blessings come from Ephesians 4:27-28 "Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him] Let the thief steal no more, but rather let him be industrious, making an honest living with his own hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need."
During Paul's time things were hard financially. Then Paul encouraged believers to work with their hands than to steal. I can imagine how these people justified their stealing. Our living conditions have worsened, we are living in a very difficult world financially too. We can try to justify stealing in any way but it remains a sin. Good news is that this same word is still very relevant to us. If we want to overcome the devil's foothold, we must be industrious meaning, we must work hard with own hands. This will enable us to make an honest living with own hands. Then the Name of the LORD will be glorified. Amen.
