_1️⃣Genesis 10:1-5: The generations of the sons of Noah, the genealogy of the nations of Japheth._
Japheth’s descendants first occupied Asia the Less, then all of Europe and the northern parts of Asia.
Japheth is much celebrated among the Greeks by the name of Japetus.
His sons, Gomer settled in the northern parts of Asia and Thracia, he became the father or progenitor of the people called Gomari or Cimbrians.
His other son was Magog who was the father of the Scythians.
The prophet Ezekiel had a prophecy about these people or people occupying the land of Magog saying, "Son of man, let your face be turned against Gog, of the land of Magog, the ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and be a prophet against him, And say, This is what the Lord has said: See, I am against you, O Gog, ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal"(Ezekiel 38:2-3).
Japheth had other sons such as Madai from which the Medes came, he first settled in the land of Macedonia, Javan from which the Greeks came, Tubal came the Iberi, anciently called Thobeli, a people of Asia,
Meshech was father of the Moschi, or the Muscovites, the ancient Russians and then Tiras was father of the Thracians worshippers of idol god Mars under the name of Thuras.
_Key Text:_ "And I will put a sign among them, and I will send those who are still living to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, Meshech and Rosh, Tubal and Javan, to the sea-lands far away, who have not had word of me, or seen my glory; and they will give the knowledge of my glory to the nations." (Isaiah 66:19)
A nation got its name from its principal head, it had a country or land which it called its own and occupied.
Tribes then came from the secondary heads with new territory appropriated to them as necessary migrations of ancient tribes, the new territories appropriated by the tribe, which may retain the original name or secondary name or be called by the land they occupied but as they moved further away from.the epicentre, they further removed themselves from God and the true worship of God.
The Psalmist says, "Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands come back with offerings; let the kings of Sheba and Seba give of their stores." (Psalm 72:10).
_2️⃣Genesis 10:6-20: The generations of the sons of Noah, the genealogy of the nations of Ham._
The posterity of Ham lived around parts the south from Babel in Asia and Africa.
His first born was Cush, the father of the Ethiopians, Arabians who when they moved eastwards into the region of the Indus valley became known as Indians.
Ham's other sons were Mizraim the father of the ancient Egyptians ,not the current who originated from the Arabians, Put the father of the ancient Libyans, Canaan from whom came the cursed tribes
Ham had many sons such as Seba, Saba, or Sheba from.whence came the Sabeans in Arabia the Desert, Havilah, the father of the inhabitants of the land of Havilah, Sabtah was father of those people who were seated in the lower part of Arabia the Happy, near the Persian Gulf, Raamah, from whom descended another people dwelling in the same Arabia.
Sabtechah, the father of another people adjoining to them in the region of the lower Nile and Sheba was father either of that people which inhabited some parts of Ethiopia, great lakes regions of Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi and Dedan whose posterity occupied or shared land amongst his brothers.
The record of Cush is said to have been father of Nimrod, the first monarch amongst the nations, a mighty hunter before the Lord, he neither feared God nor reverenced any man, he dwelt in the land of Shinar and built several cities.
_Key Text:_"Say you not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear you their fear, nor be afraid." (Isaiah 8:12)
The name Nimrod means "we shall rebel,” it is in keeping with his violent control and arbitrary control over men’s persons and property.
His ambitious endeavours were seen when he built four cities of Babel(Babylon), Erek, Akkad and Kalneh, in the land of Shinar marking all the four cardinal points of the world as belonging to him.
He introduced universality, the world becoming one nation under him which was a direct challenge to God's command for mankind to replenish or spreading out in the world.
Universality, one world order are a concept that are satanic in nature, such concept directly violate God's order of things.
The prophet Obadiah says, "All the men of your confederacy have brought you even to the border: the men that were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you; that they eat your bread have laid a wound under you: there is none understanding in him." (Obadiah 1:7)
_3️⃣Genesis 10:21-32: The generations of the sons of Noah, the genealogy of the nations of Shem_
Shem was the father of all the children of Eber from whom originated the Hebrews as Moses was mainly concerned with the generations of Abraham.
All other sons of Shem, even when they were calles Semites were denigrated as Sodomites because of their refusal to acknowledge God and to worship Him.
Checking the records of the Holy Writ, Noah was five hundred years when he begat his three sons and Shem was a hundred years old, two years after the flood, that places Japheth as the eldest son of Noah, then Shem and last Ham.
Shem is named first not because he was the first-born but because he had the privileges of the first-born and was chief in dignity and authority in the church of God, the rest lost their reverence for God except for those nations, be it Japhesites or Hamites who closely interrupted with the children of Eber, the progenitor of the Hebrews.
_Key Text:_"You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:2-3)
Those are to dwell.in the same tent as Shem.and Japheth are called brothers by grace and meet in the covenant of God and in communion of saints.
For God in dispensing his grace does not go by seniority in birth but in the knowledge of His name and Word.
The prophet Zechariah says, "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even on them shall be no rain." (Zechariah 14:16-17)
Appeal
As Shem's holy seed and Japheth dwelling in the tents of Shem, from Ham came the royal seed so goodness is true greatness before the Lord.
The Psalmist says, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." (Psalm 23:6) Amen!!!
