*_1️⃣Genesis 2:1-6:The sanctity of the seventh day and account of creation_*
⏹️God finished all His work of creation in six literal days and rested from all His works on the seventh day.
⏭️God blessed and sanctified the seventh day as a commemoration of creation.
⏫The same words and phrases used to describe the seventh day are the same words the are used on the Sabbath commandment, so it is not coincidence that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, set apart for holy purpose, calling humans to abstain from bodily labor and set apart for tje devotion of the mind and heart to worship the Creator.
*_Key Text:_ "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant or livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy"(Exodus 20:8-11).*
*⭕ To believe that God's work was not done and finished in six literary days is to limit his power and make Him a mere human being but God is an Omnipotent God, He is an Omnipresent God, and an Omniscient God, He speaks and things become what He says, His Word has the power to create.* The patriarch Moses said, *"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"(Numbers 23:19).*
*_2️⃣Genesis 2:7-17:The account of formation of mankind, his occupation and home, the garden of Eden_* .
⏹️That mankind, both male and female are the work of His hands, the man was created from the dust of the earth and God breathed in him the breathe of life and he became a living soul. So, mankind is dust of the earth, plus breathe of life, equals a living soul. God [ _yatsar-_ designed, molded and formed mankind from [ _aphar_ ] dust, mortar, clay of the earth and breathed in him [ _neshamah_ ]- an equivalent to God's life and mankind became a [ _nephesh_ ] a living being
⤴️That at death, it is the reverse of the above , dust of the earth, minus breathe of life, equals a dead soul.
*_Key Texts:_* *"Remember, I beseech you, that you have made me as the clay; and will you bring me into dust again?"(Job 10:9).*
*"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it"(Ecclesiastes 12:7).*
⏺️God planted a garden for mankind to dress, cultivate it and to keep it or to take care of it as their occupation and that man was not created to be idle.
⤴️That in the garden was the tree of life and by partaking of it they were expressing their faith in God as a sustainer of life, just as their keeping of the Sabbath demonstrated their allegiance to their Creator.
⤴️That in the garden was also the tree of knowledge of good and evil, which contrasted the tree of life and they were forbidden to partake of it as it would cause misery to life.
*_Key Text:_* *"Why, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned"(Romans 5:12).*
*_3️⃣Genesis 2:18-25: The account of the need of a partner, man's super intelligence and marriage._*
⏹️Mankind showed his super abilities by giving names to all of God's created works in which he was given charge over, to tame, train and have dominion over.
⏭️Whilst animal and bird species were created both of the opposite sex, so God created for man a help meet, appropriate, suited for his needs and so fulfill the commandments be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. So God created Eve from the rib of Adam after a deep sleep.
⏫That God instituted marriage in the garden of Eden and that marriage and the Sabbath are holy institutions from the time of creation.
⤴️The marriage covenant is appropriately called the covenant of God just as the Sabbath is God's covenant with mankind implying Gods authorship of the two sacred institutions.
*_Key Text:_* *"Now when I passed by you, and looked on you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yes, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, said the Lord GOD, and you became mine"(Ezekiel 16:8).*
*"Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them"(Ezekiel 20:12).*
*🅰️Appeal*
The composition and making of the woman, a help meet for man should not be confused as the work of another day but of the same sixth day of creation. God did all His work on the sixth day even the creation of mankind, both male and female were done on the sixth day of the week and God rested on the seventh day (Sabbath) from all His work. It is that God made man male and female distinctly related but that Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Key Texts: *"For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression"(1 Timothy 2:13-14).*
*"...for as much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man"(1 Corinthians 11:7-9).* Amen!!!
