"Betraying" God

 NLT Bible. Matthew 26:25

[25]Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”

In modern day Christianity it seems like there is still a growing number of people who are bent of betraying God. While God's Word is preached every moment through multiple media, they are still resisting that there is indeed God who created all things. They hold on to archaic teachings they received from childhood. For them the reality about who God is remains a mystery and is one of the fictitious, legendary stories.

There also appears to be some people whose sins are unforgivable! Jesus Christ was aware of Judas Iscariot's plans including his insatiable appetite for corruption. Can you imagine how many years and days it took Judas Iscariot to hatch the plan to betray Jesus! Every day he was with Jesus he maintained his plan to have Jesus killed as he well knew he would betray Him. Even today, there are still a number of Christians who hold on to betrayal thoughts as they preach against the Good News about Jesus Christ. The unfortunate thing about what these people are doing is the resultant unforgivability to their sinning. Jesus could have simply caused Judas Iscariot to be forgiven, (though it was God's grand plan for the events to evolve as they did - that is the fulfilment of prophecy) but he continued to hold on to evil thoughts. In Matthew 27:3-4, we learn how unforgivable sins ended up for Judas Iscariot! Even those who congregate around those who are preaching against the Good News will also deny you, making someone to suffer what I call double tragedy. Double tragedy because one is cursed by their Maker, (God), while on the other hand one is again denied by those who cheer you up to do evil things.

So today my brethren, learn that there are sins which no matter how you appear to be worshipping God, as long as deep down into your heart you think and feel there is no God because you have never met Him, you are holding on to ruinous thoughts (Matthew 26:25-27) that will cause you to experience double tragedy. Is God unaware of what you are thinking and planning to do? Is what you are doing pleasing to God or you are doing it to please people? Who are you following, God or Satan? I have realized after reading today's devotional scripture that certain sins don't wait for punishment to be exacted after one has physically expired. God gives us His Word so that we can be transformed by it for us to live righteously. Declare today that you don't have to take on Judas Iscariot's thoughts. Refuse to be a candidate of double tragedy, (Matthew 27:3-4).

Good morning believer in Christ Jesus?
