Thursday showers of blessings come from Ephesians 6:10-12 "In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere."
Paul opens with a passive voice on vs. 10. Be strong in passive voice can be translated be made strong which means we cannot do it ourselves. What makes us strong is the whole armour of GOD which he says in vs. 11. This whole armour of GOD is the believers' protection against evil and the devil himself. Paul goes on to reveal that our real battle is not with human cultist, false prophets, atheist, and all kinds of groups who oppose Christianity but our battle is against the demonic beings working through these people who sometimes operate in ignorance not knowing that it's the devil at work in them. Many of us have been confronted and are continuously confronted by the devil through various means but we need to be made strong by The LORD, and be fully prepared all the time. This knowledge Paul gives us, enables us too to see the devil behind every evil activity anywhere. My prayer is that the LORD opens up your eyes to see the devil behind evil activities confronting you. In our Culture tabaiwa nokuvengana tisingaoni satan muvengi chaiye. MWARI vatibatsire hama. Amen.
Blessings and Shalom
