An 82-year-old Methodist Church in Zimbabwe elder was found murdered in Chaira Village, Masasa under Headman Mupaose in Chikomba yesterday morning and his body was found in a well.
Gibson Mamire’s body was found floating in the well at his homestead with hands and legs tied and he was bleeding from the nose and mouth.
Mashonaland East Police spokesperson Simon Chazovachii confirmed the incident to The Mirror and appealed for information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.
The Mirror is told that on Monday at around 6pm, Mamire retired to bed alone. Tsitsi Homerai (47), a neighbor proceeded to Mamire’s homestead to fetch water at a well that is at the deceased’s yard the next morning.
Homerai realised that Mamire’s doors were broken and she then made efforts to find him but failed.
She alerted Mamire’s brother Shadreck Njengende (72) and he alerted other villagers.
