Tuesday showers of blessings come from 1 Thessalonians 2:14 For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of GOD which are in Judea in CHRIST JESUS; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews"
Churches in Judea suffered persecution. Now Thessalonians Christians are suffering persecution in the same manner the Jewish Christians who accepted CHRIST suffered. Jewish Christians were put under immense pressure to return to obedience to the Law. As for the Thessalonians they also experienced backlash for turning away from their former religion which was entirely pagan and idolatrous.
When we suffer persecution we also need to know that our persecutor is one - the devil. He only persecute Faithful Christians at different times and using different objects and agents. Sometimes the agents of persecution are not people from far away but those close by - whom you share life with - at home, church, work etc. When Scripture speaks about persecution, you need to know that, this was no joke. People were killed for their faith. They were displaced from their homes - comfort zones. They were rejected and condemned in their society. I know, you might be facing some persecution. Don't quit, don't give up, keep on persevering, what you are facing is for a reason that you would encourage others in due time. It's for your testimony that Glorifies GOD. AMEN.
