 Deuteronomy 4:24

[24]For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

 

Moses warns Israel as they were about to enter the land that God is a consuming fire.He reiterated his exhortation that they be very careful not to forget the covenant the Lord made with them.

The above text shows us that Not only is the Lord a _consuming fire_, He is also a jealous God.The Lord wants to preserve what belongs to him. The Lord jealously consumes everything in our life that steals our affections from him and defiles the splendor of his holiness which he has clothed us in Christ.

Heavenly Father we pray that we come before you with reverence and awe in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
