Thursday showers of blessings come from 1 Thessalonians 3:4-5 "For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer afflictions, even as it happened, and you know. For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labour would have been in vain."
Paul is honest in his statement. There is no false hope and he clearly tell his hearers that his afflictions were a reality and he couldn't force circumstances to his favour. Think of our reaction today to such a word where we only hear positive prophecies which we want to hear in our itching ears. Foretelling future suffering is something many people would not accept easily. We all want to hear positive prophecy of the future events. If you speak like Paul you might be lebelled faithless. Scripture is also revealing that suffering can take away faith. When faith is tested, many people fall down, why? Because suffering isn't acceptable and part of believer's life. MWARI Vatibatsire to live a genuinely according to the Scripture. Amen.
