Business Tips

Starting business or any venture early in life increases your chances of success. I have studied a number of business men and women over the years and I have come to find out that those who started venturing in business as early as Primary School, High School and at university or college tend to scale their businesses and become successful later in life.

I have also observed in dismay how formal education as good as it is sometimes takes away from the business growth and success of many individuals.

The more the education the more the isolation. If you are going to build a business in Zambia you have to be where the people are because that's were the money and ideas are. In nation like our own, you have to be down to earth, you will be a people magnet and it's good for business.

The other thing about education is the 'I KNOW IT ALL MENTALITY' Yes you are educated but there are people who know something that you don't know and they might not have even a G12 certificate to their name be humble enough to lend them your ears for the person of your own learning.

As I conclude my thoughts, imwe bantu education also encourages theorising and thinking a lot which can cripple your ability to make any move because you would want to think and think which does not yield any results.

These are the thoughts we shared with the people of Chingola at the Entrepreneurship and Investment Conference put together by Zangena Capital. Mr. Jones Chipeta is the founder and chairman of Zangena Capital.

I was also honoured to learn from other speakers, Pastor Chris Maboshe, Ms. Maldrin Yamba and Mr. Muyunmba.

Thank you for your hospitality Chingola, today we are in SOLWEZI.
