Friday showers of blessings come from 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 "For GOD didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do."
GOD saved us through the Death and Resurrection of JESUS so that we will be saved from wrath and destruction. JESUS'S death for us means life. HE died for us so we would live with Him. The greatest joy of our salvation is that of living with JESUS eternally. No Christian will miss out on this joy. That's why Paul insists that: whether we are awake - in this present life or asleep - in death, we will live with HIM. This reminds us firmly, that departed Christians will resurrect at the coming of CHRIST and living Christians will be caught up to be with CHRIST.
As Christians, we should always be active, alert, and purposeful in our spiritual lives until CHRIST return. We should be motivated and encouraged to edify one another by the prospect of spending Eternity with JESUS. We mustn't be discouraged by unfolding world events but rarher look forward to the day when JESUS arrives to rapture HIS Church. At last Paul acknowledged the edifying of one another done by Thessalonians believers. I would like to acknowledge as well that many Christians falls into this category of the Thessalonians. I urge you to keep doing good until CHRIST comes again. Amen.
