Wednesday showers of blessings come from 1 Thessalonians 4:14 "For if we believe that JESUS died and rose again, even so GOD will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in JESUS."
Paul gives assurance to the Christians about what happens to believers who die before the return of JESUS CHRIST. This is different from unbelievers, who have no hope of seeing their loved ones again. Christians who trust in CHRIST are only temporarily separated by death. Christians have hope of life beyond the grave because of believing that JESUS conquered death by rising from the dead.
Christians can look forward to the event in which our risen LORD will return with the souls of Christians who have fallen asleep. Paul refers to the sleep as a common expression implying death. At the same time, from a biblical perspective, this is meant to emphasize how temporary physical death is for the Christian believer. In seasons like this, Brethren, may we be comforted with these words at the loss of our beloved ones. Amen.
