Run Away From Sin

 Romans 6

12. 'Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.'

This scripture shows man has the freedom to run away from sin. Romans 5:8 talks about what used to be mankind's behaviour before Christ Jesus sacrificed His life so that man can be reconciled to God. How does one become controlled by? Many things speak to this gullibility. Imagine someone consistantly meditating on how to steal another person's priced possession! The thought is turned into a liveable idea, sharpened from moment to moment until it fills every thinking system. S/He walks drowned in the thought, sleeps drunken with the thought, sumptuously eats the vision of what will become of their thoughts once executed to fruition. This is also the same with anyone deciding to do an evil thing. The person doesn't see the evilness of what they are thinking about. It is therefore possible to refuse to be taken control of by sin and it's also evidently common the evil desires our hearts and minds crave for can be avoided. I always tell people that if you know something is wrong, there is no motive nor benefit in going ahead to do it, especially when the adverse consequences are known. The world over people are sinning not because it's beyond their capacity or capability to avoid it, it's simply out of negligence. The I don't care kind of attitude has made so many people to be cursed by God because we willfully break God's commands. Think about putting more effort in controlling yourself from being subdued by evil thoughts. Be positive about the goodness that is promised by the Word of God. Eternal life is not an imaginary phenomenon, it's true.
