Be Patient

It is a spirited struggle which demands momentary prayer to sustain one's faith journey and righteousness

Luke 18

1. One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

7. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

8. I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

You have heard and seen a lot of people lamenting why their prayers are not answered, most likely immediately after praying. This is the hope most people who claim to be disciples of Jesus Christ want to see, that is, an immediate answer to their request to God. It is (this certain hope to have a prayer answered as soon as someone wants), aligned to human justice system where instant justice is expected to be delivered, for we normally say 'justice delayed is justice denied.' When you are a devout believer in Christ Jesus, one thing which is very important is to absorb yourself into serious study about what God's plan is in the situation you are currently going through. It is a process which God requires to happen (this learning about His will), to His chosen ones. One may ask, 'Who are those who are selected as God's?'. My response to such a question is usually given in a metaphorical fashion that 'where your heart and thoughts are that is who you are before God.' It's a difficult pill to swallow, isn't it? This teaching by Jesus to His disciples is emphasizing the importance of submerging oneself into constant and consistent prayer. It is only God who knows the date and time when to answer your prayer requests and unveil His signal that the time is ripe for you to get what you have been asking for. If it's taking longer than you think to have what you want come to fruition, pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Most people lose out on God's planned blessings because of impatience, their minds are fixated on  'I want mine will done now now, how dare God you take so long to give me what I want!' Patience and endurance are the critical ingredients needed to link you up with God's plan. In today's scripture verses, one very important message to take home is, in the end, God will manifest His will and your seemingly unanswered requests will be fulfilled, and your past life difficulties will never haunt you. God is not that unfair that He will ignore you forever, be patient enough to continue to pray and trust Him, for He knows when to unravel the plan He has for you, (Jeremiah 1:5, 29:11-12, Romans 8:28 make my faith stronger as this is what God promises me every day every moment). It sometimes looks like God is punishing us for some certain wrongs which we could have done to someone or God Himself when we experience some discomfort or difficulty  in our lives. No! Don't wear down yourself with such thoughts, God is putting you through a refinery for you to come out as a proud and tested divine product, filled and qualified with all His righteousness specifications. This is the treatment everyone who is said to be His chosen one has to go through, for without it, it is difficult to please Him, (Hebrews 11:6). Learn this one thing; manna was never thrusted into the mouths of clamouring Israelites while they were in the desert, they had to step out to pick it. You too, have to work hard for God to secure your faith in and love for Him, for we are who we are because of His love for us, (1 Corinthians 15:10). Never stop praying, and don't become tired of waiting for God's time to be manifested to you at His own appointed time. Good morning believer in Christ Jesus?
