When a leader chooses to worship the devil instead of God, even prophets and priests are made to lead the whole nation away from Jesus Christ
2 Kings 16
4. 'He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the pagan shrines and on the hills and under every green tree.'
The Bible warns us about being attracted to worshipping worldly things instead of worshipping God. This happens when we see something the devil casts a situation before us looking more presentable than what God made for us to follow. Leaders are known to be powerful, and because of the authority and power they wield, they can lead the whole nation into disobeying following God's commands, (read verse 15 of today's chapter). Idol worship one of the most detestable practices God defines as evil doing. So be careful about what you see around wherever you go, it may become one of the sin traps to cause you to drift away from worshipping God. Whenever you visit some places, people, or any other environment different from where you come, always remember that God, who is unchanging, is Omnipresent. Do not emulate things without knowing the purposes for which they are used. Danger lurks in seemingly good or beautiful looking things.
