_2 Peter 3:9_
_The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance._
*The Lord is patient*
Throughout the Old and even the New Testament, we learn of the patience of God with His people. He continued to send his prophets and messengers to his people even when they persecuted them. In His longsuffering nature, God hoped that peradventure, mankind would remember His mercies and turn from their wicked ways.
This by no means makes God slack in bringing judgment to pass. He will surely judge all the evil that man do. We are urged to persevere in doing good knowing that God will reward us in His time if we do not lose heart. Never mind the wrongdoers who seem to prosper more even in their wickedness, their day is coming. We must not act as the world does but follow the example of Christ who persevered to fulfill His mandate. Let us serve God in earnest and know that all His promises upon our lives will come to pass.
*Prayer*
Lord help me to hold on to your grace and to not envy the wicked when they seem to prosper. I embrace your longsuffering nature and commit to walking according to your will...Amen
