Friday showers of blessings come from Genesis 28:20-22 "Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If GOD will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s house, then the LORD will be my GOD and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be GOD’S House, and of all that You give me I will give you a tenth.”
Jacob obeyed his parents and left for Haran. Along the way, the LORD revealed HIMSELF to Jacob. GOD promised to be with Jacob in the dream. Then Jacob took a vow, and said, if what you promised is fulfilled, I will show my gratitude by giving to the LORD my tithe. Tithe was an expression of his gratitude. If you strongly believe kuti all I have is by GOD'S Grace, you may not have problems of showing gratitude by way of tithing too. I see people sometimes discussing on the matter, but the challenge I see is, you can't put gratitude in one's heart. It's a personal choice where one appreciates what GOD has done. May the LORD give us the heart to show gratitude. Amen.
Blessings and Shalom
