MUREWA: Evengelical
Fellowship of Zimbabwe project is reported to be the one long awaited by the surrounding community of Murewa west under Chief Mangwende especially residence of Musami centre where the Water Project is taking place.
The centre is lagging on developmental strategies comparing to its famous name as the longest centre and recently bestowed with growth point status and houses a mission school, hospital and a church.
The EFZ project work was started weeks ago. The started by demolishing the old dialing borehole structure then replaced with two water-tanks erected at the top of a local rocky hill and receives water from a submissive pipe, pumps water from the formerly borehole powered by nine Solar Panels. Then 15 water-tapes was installed at designated points with more expected to fully supply the whole township.
According to accessment conducted by the Church News, has learnt that the poles used to fastern Solar Panels be revisited to avoid vandalism or Cosmic pressures that can easily hurl the poles as no proper stand was built to keep good guidance to panels. The water-pipe trenches too, were dug less 50cms and the water-pipes might be affected when Council grader start spruccing-up roads as they remain near the earth surface.
The Church News, interviewed with Mr Kapuru of Chigombe village, Murewa, said the project come at a time when Musami residence we tired of going to-and-fro to get safe water was water from wells remain hygenic to drink but to use for other purpose.
He said, the local wells and latrins share underground water since wells and toilets are built 15-20metres apart. The water does not have taste. His sentiments were echoed by many interviewed township fellows, then urged the EFZ to be sure enough of a guaranteed everlasting project.
