Thursday showers of blessings come from Gen 50:15-20 "When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?”............... His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said. But Joseph said to them,
“Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
Brothers were afraid of their sin. And I once said, if you do good, you do it for yourself, if you do bad you do it for yourself too. This is what happened here. Brothers did evil for themselves and they were living with guilty conscience. Always pray that you are not an agent of the evil plans. It might seem well today but later it will catch up with you.
Different perceptions in one matter. Brothers' mindset saw evil and revenge but Joseph considered his brother's evil as GOD'S Plan to save lives. He intentionally saw GOD in the whole matter instead of seeing evil. He further refused to sit on GOD’S sit to judge his brothers. He saw things from a positive side. This is not easy after experiencing deliberate evil from willing participants. Let's pray that the HOLY SPIRIT enable us to follow Joseph a CHRIST figure who suffered evil but did not revenge. Instead he saw GOD'S plan above the rest. Our world will be a better place to be if we see GOD in every picture. Amen.
Blessings and Shalom
