Monday showers of blessings come from Matthew 22:35-40. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The Pharisees were testing JESUS. Now JESUS answered their ignorance and mis-interpretation of the Scripture. What they asked and what they thought of Scripture were two different things. It was a blessing in disguise. JESUS simplified the Whole law into a triangular shape - thus Love for GOD and love for your neighbour. This whole is a mirror to Christians. Everything we learn about Christianity is about love, either for GOD or for your neighbour. As we progress this week, we need to see what it means to love the LORD and to love your neighbour. Amen.
