INTERNATIONAL APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS

 

It is my privilege to share with you information regarding international appointments and promotions proposed by the International Appointments Board and agreed by the General.

 

 

EFFECTIVE 1 JULY 2023

 

MAJORS SAGA LIPPO AND ESA NENONEN, officers of the Finland and Estonia Territory currently serving respectively as Chief Secretary and Secretary for Programme in that territory, are appointed as Territorial Leaders, Finland and Estonia Territory: Major Saga Lippo as Territorial Commander and Major Esa Nenonen as Secretary for Programme.  They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of lieut-colonel. They will succeed Colonels Patrick and Anne-Dore Naud who will be retiring from active service.

 

 

EFFECTIVE 1 AUGUST 2023

 

LIEUT-COLONELS TINEYI AND RUMBIDZAYI MAMBO, officers of the Zimbabwe and Botswana Territory currently serving respectively as Divisional Commander and Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries, Harare West Division, in that territory, are appointed as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Zimbabwe and Botswana Territory. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of colonel. Lieut-Colonel Tineyi Mambo will succeed Colonel Francis Nyakusamwa who was recently promoted to Glory and Lieut-Colonel Rumbidzayi Mambo will succeed Colonel Juliette Nyakusamwa who will be retiring from active service.

 


EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2023

 

COLONELS KENNETH AND CHERYL MAYNOR, officers of the USA Eastern Territory currently serving respectively as Principal and Assistant Principal, International College for Officers are appointed as Zonal Leaders, Americas and Caribbean, International Headquarters: Colonel Kenneth Maynor as International Secretary and Colonel Cheryl Maynor as Zonal Secretary for Women’s Ministries. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of commissioner: Colonel Cheryl Maynor on 1 September 2023 and Colonel Kenneth Maynor on 2 September 2023.

 

LIEUT-COLONELS BISHOW AND PAMELA SAMHIKA, officers of the Zimbabwe and Botswana Territory currently serving respectively as Secretary for Training and Capability Development and Administration Officer, International Headquarters, are appointed as Principal and Assistant Principal, International College for Officers. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of colonel.

 

COMMISSIONERS LEE AND DEBBIE GRAVES, officers of the Canada and Bermuda Territory currently serving respectively as International Secretary for Business Administration and IHQ Chaplain/City of London Liaison Officer, International Headquarters, are appointed as Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, Canada and Bermuda Territory. They will succeed Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd who have requested they be relieved of their territorial leadership responsibilities in order to focus on maximising the impact of Commissioner Floyd’s treatment plan. We remain extremely grateful to Commissioners Tidd for the excellent senior leadership they have given to the Lord and the Army over many years. The Salvation Army world continues to uphold them and their family in prayer.

 

COLONELS GARTH AND PATRICIA (PATTI) NIEMAND, officers of the Southern Africa Territory currently serving respectively as Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory, are appointed as International Secretary for Business Administration and World Secretary for Spiritual Life Development, International Headquarters. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of commissioner: Colonel Garth Niemand on 3 September 2023 and Colonel Patti Niemand on 4 September 2023.

 

LIEUT-COLONELS CHRIS AND TILITAH GOA, officers of the Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory currently serving respectively as Assistant Chief Secretary/Candidates Secretary and Chief Secretary in that territory, are appointed at Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of colonel.

 

MAJORS GARTH AND SUZANNE STEVENSON, officers of the New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa Territory currently serving respectively as Principal/Training Principal and Assistant Principal/Assistant Training Principal, Booth College of Mission in that territory, are appointed as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of lieut-colonel.

 

LIEUT-COLONELS EMMANUEL AND EDELINE SUPRÉ, officers of the Caribbean Territory currently serving respectively as Divisional Commander and Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries, Haiti Division in that territory, are appointed as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Caribbean Territory.
