 Friday showers of blessings come from Numbers 33:51-55 “Say to the children of Israel, ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you and destroy all their sculpted images, and destroy all their cast idols and completely eliminate all their idolatrous high places, and you shall take possession of the land and live in it, for I have given the land to you to possess...... But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be like pricks in your eyes and like thorns in your sides, and they will attack you in the land in which you live. And as I the LORD planned to do to them, so I will do to you.’”

Inheritance of Canaan was not as simple as walking on red carpet. GOD was playing HIS part but Israel had to put effort by taking responsibility in executing the physical action. Crossing the river wasn't easy, remember the Jordan has always been overflowing. After crossing then they had to drive nations living there. Remember the report of the spies. They said, we looked like grasshoppers before the people living in Canaan. These are the people who they had to drive out. Then destroy their idols and idolatrous high places. Cleansing of the land first and then possess it. GOD gave warning, that, if you do not do this according to command, you shall suffer the consequences. You will become like them and you shall be punished for the sins which you copy from them.

I can call this, the principle of taking possession. Plan, put effort, eliminate hat needs to be eliminated, destroy what needs to be destroyed and take possession. It is sad that we have generation X always believing in magic portrayed as miracles. For you to possess the life in Canaan, there is hard word. Nothing comes easily on silver platter. It is my prayer that the LORD raises men and women who are committed to work hard. Let GOD prosper the hard work of your hands. If you fail to work hard, you can easily sin agnaist GOD in search of prosperity. Amen.
