Zimbabwe Council of Churches continues to compliment government efforts in alleviating food insecurities and building community resilience through food assistance for assets programs. A total 240 households received 50kg mealie meal, 10kg beans and 4 litres cooking oil per household in Gwanda ward 13, Garanyemba area on 14 November 2023 after they completed their working hours during rehabilitation of community and environmental assets consisting of community weir dams, gullies, silt traps and community gardens. The distributions were supported by government stakeholders from the Department of Social Development and District Development Coordinator.
