Environmental degradation is affecting the productivity of land to provide food and water to humans, livestock and wild life.
Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) with the auspice from Finish Evangelical Lutheran Mission is implementing a Food Assistance for Assets (FFA) program in Gwanda, Mwenezi and Zvishavane districts.
On 3 November 2023, the ZCC led by Humanitarian Services and Diakonia Director Maria Tendai Dendere and Finance and organizational Sustainability Director Tafadzwa Chakuzira, with support from Agriculture Rural Advisory Services conducted a joint field visit in Gwanda ward 13 to assess the proposed community and environment assets under the FFA project.
The ZCC visited a weir dam and a community garden threatened by soil erosion.
