*1 Peter 5:5*
_Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisted the proud, and giveth grace to the humble._
*Be humble* Humility is the nature and character of God, when He sent His Son. Jesus Christ, humbled himself, made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant and appeared in the likeness of man.The scriptures say he was obedient unto death.
It took humility for John Wesley to realize that there was something missing in his life of faith.While he was afraid of the storm on the journey to Georgia by sea, the Moravians were joyous and praising God.The Methodist movement therefore came as a result of humility.
There are many Biblical examples where humility was displayed, where people were mentored to become servants of God. The crisis we have today is the failure to humble ourselves as children of God.
It takes humility to kneel down and confess one's sins before God, it takes humility to appreciate that a neighbor is worthy.
The Bible says be slow to speak and quick to listen. Lack of humility leads to calamity, relationships are destroyed, progress is compromised, individualism is rife.Submission is a sign of humility and love is a sign of humility.
The call for us is to assimilate the nature of God.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ. Humble yourself and the Lord will lift you up.
*PRAYER POINT*
Lord teach me to be humble.
