Pope Francis Denounces Surrogate Motherhood

Pope Francis denounces surrogacy as "deplorable" in a Vatican address, urging a global ban on the practice, emphasizing the exploitation of women's material needs.

He asserts that a child should be a gift, not the subject of a commercial contract, while hoping for universal prohibition. The Catholic Church's opposition to surrogacy aligns with its stance on in vitro fertilization, citing depersonalization of conception and embryo disposal.

The Pope also addresses global issues, condemning wars in Gaza and Ukraine, highlighting the plight of civilian populations, and addressing concerns such as immigration, climate change, arms proliferation, antisemitism, persecution of Christians, and artificial intelligence.
