In a collaborative effort with government stakeholders, including the District Development Coordinator (DDC), Agritex, and Veterinary Services, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches organized a training session on Small Livestock Goat Production in Mwenezi District Ward 6.
The session, held on January 12, 2024, covered crucial aspects such as nutrition, disease prevention, and breeding, aiming to equip farmers with essential knowledge to enhance livestock productivity and elevate their livelihoods.
The initiative anticipates a positive impact on farmers' ability to adapt to climate change effects, given the resilience of small livestock like goats.
These animals can serve as a vital source of both food and income, particularly during periods of drought. The joint efforts of the Suomen Lähetysseura, Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Act for Peace, and Diakonia further support this comprehensive training approach.
