Gweru Citadel Plunged Into Mourning

Salvationists across the Territory yesterday took to social media to mourn the two Gweru Citadel soldiers who were promoted to glory on Saturday in separate incidents. 


The Late Melody Dhege Muchapondwa who was expecting her first child died on Saturday night following BP complications. 


She married Roby Takudzwa Muchapondwa on July 01st 2023.


She was 30.


Salvationist online published a video of Dhege - Muchapondwa last Saturday singing along with the Gweru Praise and Worship Team in Bulawayo at  the farewell of Commissioners Wayne and Deborah Bungay. 


Dhege - Muchapondwa was a member of the Zimbabwe Territorial Youth Singers (ZTYS) and very active at both Corps and Division.


ZTYS Secretary Nomutsawashetinorarama Kachere told Salvationist online that Dhege - Muchapondwa was planning to join the Zimbabwe Territorial Songsters soon after she delivered her baby but fate had its day.


Mourners are gathered at number 58 Mtapa Township, just one house away from Gweru Citadel hall. 


Corps Officer Major Webster Sandukina said burial for the late Dhege -  Muchapondwa is at Mtapa Cemetery at 1pm tomorrow Tuesday 05 March 2024, Church service will be at Gweru Citadel and commences  at 8.30am - 12pm.


Meanwhile, the Late Leslie Mudzingwa is said to have died early Saturday morning in Harare. 


Service for Mudzingwa will be held at Nyaradzo Funeral Parlor today along

Herbert Chitepo Street

Harare at 3.30pm.


There will be an evening service at his home at number 653 Juniper Street Manresa, after Support Unit, Chikurubi at 6.30 pm. 


The body will be ferried to Gweru tomorrow at the Mudzingwa family home at number 1810 Jacobson Ave, Riverside.

 


Burial is on Wednesday 6th March 2024 at Destiny Cemetery in Gweru. - Salvationist online
