Have Christ's Mindset

*Philippians 2:7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.* 

When Jesus came to earth, He came in the likeness of men. This was his way of showing that He was prepared to vacate His throne in heaven for the sake of the human beings He had created to purchase their freedom with His own blood. The nature that was in Christ Jesus was also in God the father who humbled Himself by offering His only begotten son to be a sacrifice for us. 

It is the same selflessness that we are expected to embrace when we interact with others. To love one another is to be like Christ. To be like Christ is to give of ourselves for the safety and comfort of others. Rarely do we have enough compassion towards our neighbours to show them love. Who then are we emulating by our daily actions?

Help me Lord to have the same mindset that was in Christ Jesus also, that I may not value my own status for the sake of my brethren, Amen.
